I have been a Linux user for some time, and I am very happy with it. But I still keep up with new windows releases and Windows 7 I have to admit is quite impressive. I have been using it in a virtual machine for over a week now and it runs quite nice. However, windows suffers from the bad side of popularity. Many manufacturers install junkware on there computers. I still have never understood this. Why would a manufacturer cripple there computer for the sake of added revenue. Doesn't it make them look bad. Anyway heres a quote to let you know which PC manufacturers to stay away from. "Acer, Dell, HP, and Sony performed
very poorly, thanks to a bountiful load of crapware. A handful --
Toshiba, but particularly Asus and Samsung -- offer better than
expected performance for their hardware thanks to lack of junkware." So there you go, if your in the market for a new Windows 7 PC buy a Toshiba, Asus or Samsung. However, if you want to skip it all together I use OpenSUSE. Read the full story here
